Richmond-based Fahrenheit Group announced a merger with Virginia-based Axeo this month allowing the advisory group to now provide HR resources under the new name FahrenheitHR West.
Fahrenheit Group, founded in 2010, provides advisory, accounting and finance services. Axeo, an HR consulting firm, has roots in the greater Washington, D.C. area.
Axeo founder and CEO Tom Wimer will head FahrenheitHR West. Terry Hindmarch, Scott Smith and Brad Harper also will run the company. Harper, who previously worked for Trigon Executive Assessment Center, recently becoming a partner, and will lead business development efforts.
“We’re very excited to be bringing this partnership together,” Wimer said. “This merger is just an ideal blend of individuals (and) business models and we’re very excited to have Brad Harper now joining our team. Brad is a very well known, a well respected human capital professional in the Phoenix area.”
FahrenheitHR West will provide services to find and retain a team, performance management, compensation plan design, benefits planning and designing, as well as organizational and leadership development to mid-sized companies going through change, most likely due to growth, Wimer said.
“In the past seven or eight years, the economy has been rather poor,” Wimer said. “But as soon as the economy has started to wake up and get more positive, then organizations start to think about things they haven’t for a while.”
These new concerns include hiring, recruiting and training, he said.
FahrenheitHR West is especially useful for companies with about 100 to 200 employees and a limited need for full-time HR staff but still require the level of expertise that only a large company can afford, Harper said.
Harper, who has worked in management and human resource consulting since 1983, Smith, who worked for American Express, and Hindmarch, who worked with General Electric, have all been established in greater Phoenix for several years and know the local talent pool, Harper said.
“FarenheitHR has brought together … seasoned HR professionals that really allow companies a little deeper dive into HR expertise than what they would be able to have internally,” Harper said.
Fahrenheit Group and Axeo have had ties for about two years, Harper said.
The Fahrenheit Group was looking to expand services where as Axeo was looking to expand coverage beyond the greater D.C. area, Wimer said. The companies officially merged July 1 and have established their infrastructure at this point, he said.
